Pilot Destinations' main purpose is to provide the pilot with up-to-date information about fly away get away destinations that are:

• Aviation friendly 
• Cater for, and understand the private pilot 
• Cater for the light aircraft owner and charter industry.

Pilot Destinations provides lodge contact information coupled with the basic airfield information that a pilot, charter operator or visitor requires in order to make an informed decision as to the aviation facilities available.

Pages 4 & 5 include a map of South Africa, which can be used in planning flights and can be used in conjunction with AviMap - South Africa's first complete Aviation Map Book and VFR Flight Guide.

Provincial and Country Sections

Destination information within South Africa is grouped according to provinces. This edition now also includes three of our neighbouring countries namely Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia, with their information grouped within their own sections.

Frequency Charts and Additional Airfield Information

Information in this section is compiled from the AIPs as published by the South African Civil Aviation Authority, the Botswana, Lesotho & Namibia Civil Aviation Authorities and independent verification. Airfield information of the various destinations is up to date at the time of publishing. Pilots are however advised to ensure that they keep abreast of any changes and updates of other airfield information published, by referring to the regular AIPs published by the abovementioned authorities.

Nautical Mile Distance Charts

The South African Nautical Mile Distance Chart includes Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia's main ports of entry, using the Great Circle Distance method. However, the Botswana and Namibia Nautical Mile Distance Charts cover main ports of entry and lodges within Botswana ans Namibia. These will be useful in determining distances to and from lodges as well as popular airfields in and outside South Africa.
